Lockable Gas Strut HY3
Usually Gastac gas spring has two types of locking gas struts,8mm and 10mm piston rods, the same pressure tube diameter 28mm,we called a lockable gas spring HY3.
Extension Direction: In the extension direction (when the locking gas strut is being pushed out), both types of lockable gas struts have rigid locking up to a mechanical load limit. This means that regardless of the force applied to extend the lockable gas strut, it will remain rigid until it reaches this limit, usually this Max.force 7000~8000N.
Compression Direction: In the compression direction (when the locking gas strut is being pushed in), the locking remains rigid until a limit is reached, which is dependent on the force applied to compress it.The limit for rigid locking in the compression direction is mentioned to be 5.8~6.2 times the F1-force. This limit is significant because it allows the locking gas strut to handle loads that require rigid locking even when additional loads or weights are applied. Once the applied force increase up to this limit, the separating piston (part of the gas strut) moves in the direction of the gas chamber.
